Stump removal is required for a variety of reasons. It may be a large tree stump preventing you from undertaking earthworks, or stopping you from utilising your garden bed to its full potential. To remove the stump, we use a machine called a stump grinder. The stump grinder chips away at the stump and allows the stump to be removed to approximately 150 – 200mm below ground level. This leaves behind workable ground. The machine is tracked, allowing it to travel over rough ground, and as it is only 900mm wide, we can access most spots. We also have access to a smaller, wheeled machine, for those really awkward spots that may be within a pool area or at the bottom of steps. The stump grinder can also be used for the removal of palm stumps and golden cane stumps. We can even grind exposed roots of old stumps that are preventing you from mowing the lawn easily.

If you are considering excavating the area in which you are planning to remove a tree or a stump, we suggest you plan to utilise the excavator for stump removal instead. In this case, when the tree is removed, plan to leave approximately a metre of trunk above the ground to allow the excavator to lever it out.
